He turned to me and said “I’m all yours”

This morning, I said to Jack,

“I’d love to ask you for something.”

He looked up from the kitchen and said, “Yeah, what’s up?”

I smiled and said, “I’ll ask you when I know for sure I have your full attention.”

He walked over, wrapped his arms around me, looked down (because he’s a tall glass of water at 6’4”) and said softly, “I’m all yours.”

I said, “I’d love…”

And before I even finished, he said, “to go on a date?”

I laughed. “Yeah.”

We talked about a few things I’d love to do - a pottery class, cake decorating, a new ballet, maybe even tango.

I told him, “I’m so excited to try something new with you, and I’ll let you choose what that is.”

He smiled and said, “Great. I’m on it. How about we do something this weekend?”

And I just said, “Amazing.”

Now… I get to sit back and let him plan it.

And as I was getting ready, I thought about how many women struggle with this - 

not because they don’t know what they want,
