Reclaiming Pieces Of Me
The other day, I was invited to be a panelist at an event for economic development and leadership in women.
One of the women asked for advice on how to secure funding for her project with the obstacle of being a woman – of colour - in a predominantly white male field.
People gave advice and ideas for negotiation.
When I finally got to speak with her, I started by acknowledging the courage it takes to walk the path she’s walking. There are some real forces at play that undoubtedly make this a challenging path.
And then I reminded her that it wasn’t only about the end goal of securing the funds, it’s about the journey to getting there and who she becomes along the way.
It’s much the same in dating.
In our Inner Circle, we remind the women that so much about dating is a deepening of your own inner relationship.
Yes, the intention is to meet someone (end goal). AND, it’s about meeting yourself.
Who you become along the way, I believe, is who you have always truly been.
Beneath…
the layers
the conditioning.
the false beliefs.
Beneath the maya.
As you take one step in front of the next, and you move through the highs and lows of your journey, you pick up the forgotten pieces of yourself along the way.
And that is a journey worth taking.
How many times have you wanted something, gotten it, and then stopped feeling excited and grateful for it?
So, is it really about the goal or the journey of getting there?
Really, really, though.
With every step of the way, I get to reclaim a piece of me, and in my heart of hearts, I know that’s worth more than anything I’ll ever achieve.
I hope you feel the same x
With love,
Diana
