This is what “Provide and Protect” looks like in a modern day world
Don’t let them misguide you -
A man’s very nature IS to provide and protect.
Which may get your panties in a knot. Especially on the provide piece.
You’re thinking to yourself…
I love being a breadwinner.
I’ve got ambition.
I want to make my own money and impact in the world.
To that I say, same sister.
But do not let that get in the way of this beautiful union between the masculine and feminine that awaits you.
Because whether you know it or not, it has been.
You’ve been confused and thinking, “well I make just as much money if not more than him, shouldn’t I pay for this?”
Or
“My mom taught me to never rely on a man.”
Or
“It’s disempowering to be provided for.”
And that’s because you’ve got a very flat definition of provision.
He is providing when he…
picks up the exact groceries your family needs for the next few days (we’ve got one joint account in our fam so who paid is irrelevant here).
makes a home cooked meal exactly the way you love it.
takes out a white board and writes all the things that need to get done that week for the household.
sends you a link to an article based on something you were talking about yesterday.
I could go on here. Some of these involve money, some do not. All are forms of provision.
He is protecting when he…
holds you in his arms and tells you he will always be there for you.
asks you how you feel while making love to you.
suggests staying on busy streets when you go for your solo late evening stroll.
holds out his hands when you’re stepping onto a slippery rock on a lover’s hike.
It’s time to broaden your POV and let him be in his masculine nature, so you get to be in yours - relaxed receivership.
This is the journey my clients go on, and it changes their world on every single level - from marriage, to motherhood and money.
