Sometimes good things take time – and here’s why

Woman by the sea

Ever hoped, wished and prayed for something that seemed to be taking its sweet time to come around? That’s probably because it is.

I’ve seen this in my life, time and time again. There’s something I really want, that just won’t come around – until it does (or until I’m ready to see that it’s already there).

This can be a hard truth to grapple with, because it’s difficult to find that balance between wanting something, working for it, and waiting for it to happen. What I can say is this,

As long as you’re putting in the work, something will happen.

It might not come exactly how you pictured it, but it will come, and it will be better than anything you could’ve imagined.

Often, the Universe or God, whichever you connect with most, is also waiting; waiting for you to be ready for the gift you’ve been waiting to receive.

Waiting for you to be ready enough not to sabotage it.I can see this very clearly with the man I met almost three years ago; the man I’m marrying this year.

I’d been wondering if the right person would come along, and been taking the steps to be ready for him when he did. And I can honestly say, that had I met him even just a few months sooner, I wouldn’t have been ready or mature enough to receive what he had to offer me - and I would’ve likely (and unknowingly) sabotaged that relationship.I know I say this often, but I’m going to say it again.

Trust is so important. Trust in yourself and something greater than you, and a knowing (not a belief), that everything WILL work out the way it should – as long as you’re taking the steps towards the life you want – and building a solid foundation for it.

Now, I know what you’re probably thinking...”what if I don’t know what steps to take?”

The trust you have in yourself will guide you to taking the best step you can in the moment you’re in, with the knowledge you have.

The worst thing you can do is let fear of the unknown and fear of things not working out stifle you from taking any steps at all.Learn to connect with yourself more (and to listen to others' opinions less) and you’ll find yourself guided in whatever direction you need to be going in, at that point in your life. And that direction will lead you to the start of the next journey, which will lead you to the next and the next. And trust that the Universe does have your back. Even if it seems to be holding out on you; because, it’s either waiting for you to be ready or waiting for you to open your eyes and see what it’s placed right in front of you.

Keep your eyes open, focus your attention and appreciate even the smallest of victories.

Peace, love and good things take time,

Diana
