Relaxing Into My Life
I’m about to tell you a story that you may stir something up inside of you.
The story is simple, but the lesson, profound.
Last week, our baby girl Sophia woke up from her nap and was ready to get to daycare. I had fed her, changed her, cuddled her…and now I needed her to go so I could get some work done.
I called on Jack and said, she’s ready for you to take her! He said ok, I’m coming.
Five minutes go by and then ten. And just as I’m about to check on him (ummm hello, are you coming?), I take a deep breath and ask myself…
“what’s it going to take for you to relax into your life? To believe and know, there is no rush, only time.”
This story around time runs deep. And I know exactly where it comes from – mom, if you’re reading this, I love you AND I’m ready to heal this time story for the both of us <3
In that moment, I had a choice to project my time stress onto my husband and create tension/resistance/yucky feelings between us….
or relax and enjoy my daughter’s sweet (and sassy) smile, for a few more minutes.
And Jack…
Well a moment later, he was downstairs, with a smile on his face, ready to go.
I kissed him and her and off they went; neither of them impacted by my unnecessary stress, and me, proud of myself for gently undoing this conditioning.
It might be easy for you to gloss over this story like it’s nothing…
But when you sink into the feeling of it, you will see, it’s everything.
If you find yourself bogged down by the everyday details, the endless to-dos, especially for you mamas out there I ask you…
What do you need to let go of in order to relax into your life?
Seriously, I’d love to know.
P.S. If embodying a more relaxed, playful, feminine way of being feels like sweet honey to your soul, The Inner Circle may just be for you.
